The OA Sunrise Meeting is an Overeaters Anonymous recovery meeting held via phone every day of the week at 6:45 a.m. Eastern. The meeting is registered with oa.org. Our meeting exists to “carry the message to the still suffering compulsive eater”, according to OA’s Tradition 5.
Our History
Our meeting began via phone in about 2008, when members of a friend group wanted to continue to meet, after one friend moved away. The members then began meeting via phone, and little by little, new friends joined the meeting. At some point the meeting grew large enough that the group registered with oa.org as a meeting and began meeting daily.
For our 10th and 15th anniversary, we held commemorative meetings.
